Siberian iris are suitable for borders, garden beds, wild gardens and along the edges of ponds but not for growing in water. They do, however, combine easy care with grace and beauty. They make stunning cut flowers! Excellent naturalizer that adds drama to your garden.
About this Variety
Iris Chrysographes are black-flowered siberian iris which makes it a sensational accent to just about any garden. The velvety, amazingly near black flowers bloom atop slender, elegant gray-green stalks. In nature there are no true black flowers but these come as close as you can get. Slightly scented blooms.

Growing Instructions
Plants grow best in moist, acidic soil but also tolerate drier soil.
Care Tip
Upon receipt, soak your rhizomes in water overnight to jump start growth. Fertilization is great for them. Feed in spring with a nitrogen rich fertilizer.
