About this Variety

Butterfly Bush Dapper® White , Buddleia davidii 'Dapconwhi' PP33,566, from Bloomables® is the best compact Buddleia out there. Also known as Butterfly Bush. This ornamental deciduous shrub is exceptionally free-flowering and will produce new blooms throughout the season and into the fall. This compact and mounded variety offers non-brittle branches, as well as new blooms that bury older spent flowers, which means less dead-heading. White blooms form in early summer. Very easy care. Plant in a mixed border, along a walkway or in a large patio container. Asexual propagation without proper authorization is prohibited.

Growing Instructions

Soil preparation: Buddleia prefers rich, well-drained soil in full sun. Planting: Dig a hole 8-10" deep and wide enough so the roots can be spread apart. Return soil loosely to the depth needed by the plant, so that all of its roots will be covered with about 2" of soil. Place plant in hole, spread roots and fill with good loose garden soil. Watering: Water thoroughly at planting. While actively growing, water frequently and thoroughly so that water will reach roots. Mulching: Mulch to keep the soil cool and prevent soil from drying out.

Care Tip

Cut some stems back to the ground and cut some back by half to control the size of an established plant. Dwarf varieties should be pruned modestly as well. Deadhead when needed.
